Key Responsibilities
- Represent the organization professionally within target communities.
- Support assessments, surveys, and monitoring visits when requested.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator relevant to the position.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the project coordinator.
Minimum Requirements
- Good understanding of community health and nutrition promotion.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent facilitation and community engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively with community leaders and faith leaders.
- Knowledge of protection mainstreaming, safeguarding, PSEA, gender, and disability inclusion.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Arabic (native ) and strong English communication skills (oral and written)
Working Conditions
Syria - Damascus
Under the supervision of the project coordinator & the Projects manager, The Community Mobilizer will lead community engagement activities under the Health and Nutrition project to strengthen community participation, promote positive health and nutrition behaviours, and improve community utilization of primary healthcare services.
The position will work closely with community health volunteers, faith leaders, community leaders, health facilities, local authorities, and Ministry of Health representatives to ensure effective implementation of community awareness activities while promoting protection, safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion, and accountability to affected populations.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, Social Sciences, Community Development, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Diploma holders with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
- 60% field work
- 40% office-based
- Ability to travel across the country regularly for training, assessment, regular monitoring and evaluation
- Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments, and physical hardships
