Role Summary
Join Europe Cares as a Comms Coordinator, managing communication strategies while based in Greece or Germany for humanitarian outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and monitoring the communication strategy of Europe Cares, including main outputs and goals;
- Preparation and oversight of the yearly communication plan based on the communication strategy;
- Management of EC social media and editorial calendar;
- Design of SM posts, in collaboration with the Comms team;
- Preparation of texts including press releases, articles, annual reports;
- Support in the preparation of infographics in reports, articles, posters, and other informational materials;
- Preparation of monthly newsletters;
- Development of the EC website;
- Development of communication and advocacy campaigns;
- Preparation of photo and video content in Paréa, in collaboration with the on-site SM volunteers;
- Supporting the fundraising team with grant writing and reporting (mostly support in German translation);
- Collaboration with the central team to achieve EC strategic goals;
- Training, supervising and mentoring the volunteers in the Comms team;
- Participating in bi-weekly central team coordination meetings;
- Leading & participating in weekly comms team meetings.
Minimum Requirements
- Eligible to work in Greece or in Germany (as a small NGO we are not able to offer assistance for visa applications) or freelancer;
- Able to commit for 12 months;
- Able to provide a Criminal Record Check;
- (Under-)graduate degree in a relevant field of study;
- Previous experience working in humanitarian organizations;
- 1-year minimum experience in managing communication strategies and media platforms;
- Experience in fundraising and grant writing is highly desirable;
- Experience in graphic design is highly desirable;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & German. Please note that candidates who are not fluent in German cannot be considered for this role;
- Excellent organizational & time management skills;
- Ability to work independently and take initiative;
- Eye for detail & striving for professional excellence;
- High degree of integrity and strict compliance to Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy;

Working Conditions
- Flexible schedule and location, with at least three trips to Lesvos per year
- Greek or German employment contract depending on where you are based, or a freelance collaboration

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates must be able to work in either Greece or Germany, with fluency in German required.
