The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) is an autonomous international organization established for scientific, educational, developmental, and humanitarian purposes with a vision of safer communities and sustainable development through disaster risk reduction and climate resilience in Asia and the Pacific.
Established in 1986 as a technical capacity-building center, ADPC has grown and diversified its expertise across social and physical sciences to support sustainable solutions for risk reduction across a broad range of specialist areas, with over 63 staff from 17 different nationalities and a wide range of professional expertise from atmospheric scientists to social scientists with experiences from all levels of engagement typically required for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Resilience (CR) effectively. ADPC works across fifteen thrust areas and three cross- cutting themes: Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, Disaster and Climate Innovation, and Regional and Transboundary Cooperation under three departments named Preparedness and Climate Actions, Risk Governance, Financing and Risk Analytics and Climate Services. ADPC Strategy 2030 guides the organization in providing comprehensive risk reduction support to countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific. Key Responsibilities
1\. Developing strong coordination with the District Administration, DRRO Office, DDMC members and agencies, DMIC Working Group, and municipality to implement DMIC interventions
2\. Working in close coordination with the disaster management stakeholders and BPP sectoral partners at the district Level
3\. Formulating and implementing of DMIC activities at the district level as per the agreed work plan
4\. Providing capacity building support to the DRRO Office, DDMC members and agencies, DMIC Working Group, and municipality
5\. Working toward the sustainability of DMIC at the district level, fully engaging the District Administration
6\. Working with the program team to develop the ADPC portfolio at the district level
7\. Serving as the district focal person of BPP and ADPC for administration, logistics, and coordination
8\. Ensuring proper documentation and reporting
9\. Performing other responsibilities as per the requirements of the program and as may be assigned by the program team
Working Conditions
The Consultant will be paid a monthly professional fee upon submission of the timesheet and monthly deliverable report. The Consultant is expected to submit a monthly timesheet related to the tasks and the above-stated deliverables to be approved by the program team
