Role Summary

Join EMERGENCY as a Logistician-Driver, providing vital transportation and logistical support to ensure efficient operations in Syria's healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide safe and reliable transportation for Emergency staff and authorized personnel.

· Ensure vehicles are maintained, roadworthy, and compliant with safety and security standards.

· Support staff logistics needs, including accommodation and transportation arrangements during their stay in Damascus.

· Ensure efficient logistical support services for offices and guesthouse.

· Monitor field logistics activities to ensure effectiveness, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

· Maintain minimum stock levels of office, guesthouse, and logistics supplies.

· Support asset and consumable management, ensuring accurate records and tracking.

· Collaborate with technical teams to plan and monitor maintenance activities for facilities and project infrastructure.

· Conduct market assessments and identify qualified local suppliers, contractors, and service providers.

· Maintain and update supplier databases.

· Support the identification of the most suitable goods and services for local or international procurement.

· Supervise local procurement processes in compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, approved budgets, and procurement procedures.

· Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

· Contribute to international supply chain processes to ensure uninterrupted project support and timely replenishment of supplies.

· Monitor the functionality and readiness of emergency communication systems, including Satellite phones and radios (if any).

· Maintain updated inventories and records of communication equipment.

· Collaborate with medical and non-medical departments to ensure compliance of logistics procedures with organizational policies.

· Ensure proper implementation of procurement, warehouse, and supply chain procedures.

· Prepare logistics reports and provide regular updates on transport, procurement, stocks, assets, and operational support activities.

Minimum Requirements

· High school diploma required; a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.

· At least 2 years of experience in logistics, procurement, fleet management, or administration, preferably in a humanitarian or NGO environment.

· Valid driving license with a good driving record.

· Experience in procurement, stock management, and supplier management.
