Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the National Project Principal, the Senior Project Manager leads the planning, execution and completion of multiple projects to meet defined time, cost and quality objectives. The role coordinates project teams, subcontractors, consultants and owner‑held vendors, ensuring delivery in line with contract conditions and organisational policies. It oversees project objectives, quality control, stakeholder relationships and commercial performance, while representing the business with professionalism and maintaining strong, ongoing client engagement.
- Lead diverse projects, act as a primary client interface, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Drive value through Pre‑Construction and Construction phases, seeking efficiencies and repeat business.
- Manage project financials including claims, cost control, variations, reporting, and cash‑flow.
- Oversee contract preparation, procurement, administration, and timely close‑out of all agreements.
- Plan and manage project resources, schedules, risks, long‑lead items, and overall delivery performance.
- Monitor program performance, manage delay/acceleration claims, and implement recovery strategies.
- Ensure quality outcomes, manage design/documentation inputs, and close out defects efficiently.
- Oversee safety compliance, incident management, and contractor/subcontractor safety performance.
- Ensure environmental compliance, manage environmental plans, and assess contractor capability.
- Coordinate consultants, ensure design meets time/cost/quality objectives, and secure required approvals.
- Demonstrate strong commercial judgement, communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement.
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Building, Construction, Engineering, or a Property/Project Management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Design/Construction industry, ideally within commercial tenant improvement.
- Strong knowledge of industry contracts, subcontracts and project management workflow platforms.
- Sound understanding of project management techniques including performance assessment, project evaluation, value engineering and quality management.
- Ability to analyse commercial conditions, identify project risks and opportunities, and apply integrated management systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Capability to work independently across multiple projects, influence project teams, and adapt to changing environments.
