You are an experienced climate change and disaster resilience professional with a strong track record in international development, ideally in the Indo-Pacific. You bring deep technical expertise across climate adaptation, mitigation and disaster risk reduction, and are confident applying this knowledge to real-world programming and policy contexts. You are comfortable navigating complex donor environments such as DFAT and can quickly interpret and communicate technical information into clear, practical advice for diverse audiences.

You thrive in fast-paced, client-facing roles that require responsiveness, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. You are a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building trusted relationships with stakeholders across geographically dispersed teams. You have demonstrated experience in quality assurance and are motivated to support and mentor others, contributing to a high-performing and inclusive team culture. You are a strong manager of teams and are willing to step up and act as deputy to the Senior Specialist as required.

You are values-driven, with a strong commitment to gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI), safeguarding, and ethical development practice. You bring a proactive mindset, a solutions-oriented approach, and a genuine passion for strengthening climate and disaster resilience outcomes. If you enjoy combining technical expertise, strategic thinking, and practical delivery to create meaningful impact, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute at scale.

Joining Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Australia’s climate and development agenda at scale. Working at the intersection of policy, programming, and technical advisory, you will support DFAT and partners to deliver impactful, gender-responsive and inclusive climate and disaster resilience outcomes across the Indo-Pacific. As part of a high-performing and collaborative team, you’ll engage with diverse stakeholders, influence real-world investment decisions, and help shape innovative approaches to climate integration. CRC provides a dynamic and supportive environment where your expertise is valued, your professional growth is encouraged, and your work directly contributes to building more resilient communities in the region.
