Join People in Need as an Asia Representative to strengthen donor engagement and expand funding opportunities across Asia and the Pacific.

About the Organisation

The Asia Representative will serve as PIN's strategic ambassador to donors, foundations, development finance institutions and other influential stakeholders in the region. Working closely with regional and headquarters leadership, you will help shape and deliver our donor engagement strategy, establish new partnerships, and support the growth of PIN's humanitarian and development portfolio.

This is a highly external-facing role requiring strong networking skills, donor intelligence, strategic thinking and the ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers.

  • Work closely with the Institutional Relations Department (IRD), Asia and other Regional Director and Deputies, Country Directors, Technical Advisory Unit and Strategic Pillar Leads.
  • Collaborate with advocacy colleagues to support strategic messaging and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure donor engagement efforts are aligned across country, regional and headquarters levels.

Minimum Requirements

  • Significant experience in donor relations, business development, institutional fundraising, external affairs or partnership development (e.g. GCF, DFAT, ADB, JICA, KOICA, Regional branches of global foundations or regional foundations etc.)
  • Established network within the development, humanitarian, philanthropic or public sector landscape in Asia.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating strategic partnerships and securing funding opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of international development and humanitarian assistance architecture.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication and representation skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior government, donor and foundation representatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal English.
  • Experience working with major bilateral and multilateral donors.
  • Knowledge of climate finance mechanisms and development finance institutions.
  • Familiarity with the Asia-Pacific philanthropic ecosystem.
  • Experience working within an international NGO.

Working Conditions

  • Reimbursement of travel expenses with travel to the country of residence once every 6 months of work;
  • Reimbursement of costs of visas and vaccinations; assistance with the visa application procedure;
  • Reimbursement for the medical check-up before and after the deployment;
  • Travel health insurance covering medical care, incl. the repatriation;
