Child Protection Project Manager
Role Summary
Join the Danish Refugee Council as a Child Protection Project Manager in Uganda, managing impactful child protection projects in refugee settlements.
About the Organisation
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in designing and delivering child protection programming for refugees and other vulnerable communities.. Moreover, we also expect the following.
In this position, you are expected to demonstrate DRC’s five core competencies:
- Required*
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Social work, Social sciences, Development studies, or relevant fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the refugee context in Uganda, and West Nile in particular.
- At least 3 years’ experience with people management and at least 2 years of experience as a Project Manager
- Strong understanding of global and national child protection standards and approaches, including the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS).
- Demonstrated experience in CP case management, including supervision of case management services and coordination of referrals for children at risk.
- Experience supporting community-based CP mechanisms and strengthening the capacity of Community Based Organisations (CBOs), RLOs and government CP structures.
- Very good understanding of both global and national protection standards and approaches.
- Experience designing technical components of child protection programs, including demonstrated knowledge of protection information management systems.
- Very good organizational and management skills.
- Exceptional spoken and written English as well as analytical skills.
- Knowledge of written & spoken English.
- Desirable*
- Knowledge of the local languages spoken in the operation area.
- Master's Degree in Law, Social work, Social sciences, Development studies, or relevant fields
