Join Habibi.Works as a Community Kitchen Supervisor in Greece, managing kitchen operations and supporting community meals for refugees and locals.
About the Organisation
Habibi.Works is a solidarity-based makerspace and community hub located next to the refugee camp of Katsikas in Northern Greece. It provides access to tools, knowledge, and shared spaces for people on the move, local residents, and international volunteers.
Rooted in values of solidarity, mutual respect, and justice, the project fosters community, agency, and resilience in a context shaped by European migration policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee ingredients and materials; coordinate with Procurement/Logistics Officer for weekly food shopping.
- Facilitate daily food preparation; ensure safe use of kitchen equipment; guide participants.
- Ensure appropriate quantities are prepared and distributed fairly.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness; encourage good practices.
- Monitor kitchen equipment; sort broken or unneeded items; communicate material needs.
- Document kitchen activities.
- Collaborate with team members; ensure groceries are handled by Procurement/Logistics Officer.
Minimum Requirements
- Basic cooking skills.
- Time management and adaptability.
- Ability to work in changing teams and under potential stress.
- Commitment: minimum 6 weeks, up to 3 months
- Minimum age: 22
- Ability to live in the EU for duration of stay (we cannot support with visa processes)
Working Conditions

- Meals on working days
- Two weekend days (Sunday & Monday)
- A meaningful role in a grassroots, solidarity-based project
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be able to live in the EU for the duration of the role and will not receive visa support.
