Key Responsibilities

  • Support the timely and quality implementation of engineering/ construction/ repair activities.
  • Prepare a detailed and achievable workplan for the implementation of engineering Project Deliverables.
  • Prepare detailed program of works and cost estimates for construction/repair activities.
  • Review, coordinate and update workplans with key stakeholders, government counterparts and community leaders
  • Coordinate with the procurement/logistics team pertinent to ensure timely delivery of the construction and other materials needed in target areas.
  • Coordinate and assist the procurement/logistics team on market survey/analysis pertaining to Shelter, WASH, and other possible infrastructure project interventions and activities
  • Provide technical and quality control inputs on any needed construction materials to the procurement/logistics team.
  • Plan and implement capacity-building and training activities for partners, stakeholders and/or beneficiaries on Build-Back-Better-Safer (BBBS) construction guidelines as prescribed by the Shelter Cluster and the Donor.
  • Attend meetings and coordinate with key stakeholders, such as local government or active NGOs, as directed by the National Project Officer of the Legazpi Sub-Office.
  • Ensure full adherence to the principles of Do no Harm, and Conflict-Sensitivity Frameworks throughout the project implementation.
  • Assist in planning, monitoring, and reporting project accomplishments in close coordination with the program team.
  • Identify challenges and provide inputs and recommendations to improve/develop program services.
  • Support the oversight and provision of technical guidance to consultants, service providers or implementing partners relating to engineering, in line with the project workplans and requirements.
  • Conduct monitoring of relevant engineering work within the sub-office, to ensure compliance with all relevant standards, and report any challenges to the National Project Officer as necessary.
  • Conduct necessary assessments, information verification or validation, updating and feedback, and monitoring in line with program implementation deliverables.
  • Support the implementation of emergency response operations including field deployment for rapid assessment, attend cluster meetings, shelter support, and other service delivery/distribution.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
