Key Responsibilities
International Medical Corps (IMC) has launched a new project in the Central African Republic (CAR), funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) through the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The project, “Saving lives, building resilience, providing integrated maternal and newborn health and VAWG services in humanitarian settings”, is implemented in Bria and Ndele health districts.
The consultant will build the capacity of surgical and clinical staff from the Ministry of Health and Population in the Central African Republic on fistula repair techniques. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and skills transfer, the consultant will strengthen the ability of healthcare providers to deliver quality fistula repair services, resulting in improved patient outcomes, reduced postoperative complications, and the sustainable development of local expertise within the facility.
The consultant will deliver specialized training and mentorship to Ministry of Health surgeons and allied staff engaged in fistula repair. The role emphasizes capacity building, surgical excellence, and knowledge transfer to strengthen national fistula repair services.

- Conduct theoretical sessions on fistula etiology, diagnosis, and surgical procedures involving MoH staff (surgeons and medical staff) in Bangui capital city and Bria regional hospital
- Deliver hands-on surgical training in fistula repair procedures
- Provide technical support and supervision to MoH staff during live surgeries to ensure safe practice.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to junior surgeons, nurses, and anesthetists.

Minimum Requirements
The candidate must be qualified Obstetrician/Gynecologist and surgeon
A minimum of 3 years of surgical/gynecological experience in the fistula repair area.
