Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across OTR driving routes.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Transport various types of freight such as hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, or specialty cargo like automobile transportation.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness; report any issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or unforeseen delays.

- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (hazmat) and hazardous goods handling is highly desirable.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely while loading and unloading freight; familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation tools for route planning and navigation on over-the-road routes.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks is preferred; strong truck driving skills are essential.
- Excellent safety awareness with a focus on truck loading/unloading safety protocols and hazard mitigation practices.
