Role Summary

Join Global Wave Group as a DevOps Engineer in Auckland. Expertise in AWS and containerization is essential for this onsite role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure on AWS Cloud, ensuring high availability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Design and maintain Kubernetes (K8s) clusters, manage container images, and optimize orchestration strategies.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Optimization: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins,Tekton, ArgoCD or GitHub Actions to automate building, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write and maintain IaC scripts using Terraform or Ansible to ensure reproducible and version-controlled infrastructure.
  • Application Support: Develop and troubleshoot issues in Java, Python, and React JS DevOps applications.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana,VM, ELK Stack) to ensure system stability and rapid incident response.
  • Linux Administration: Manage and optimize Linux/Windows server environments, including kernel tuning, network configuration, and performance monitoring.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering experience.
  • Cloud Platform: Deep proficiency with AWS services (EC2, EBS, CloudWatch, CloudFront, S3, RDS, Lambda,WAF, SSM, VPC, IAM, etc.).
  • Containerization: Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes (including Helm, operators, or service mesh).
  • OS Knowledge: Solid understanding of Linux/Windows system administration and networking.
  • Scripting & Coding: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Experience with Java is a plus.
  • Version Control: Expertise with Git and branching strategies.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work in an agile environment, and strong Chinese written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full-Stack Familiarity: Practical experience or working knowledge of Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Flask) for backend services.
  • Frontend Knowledge: Understanding of React architecture,TypeScripts, CSS (tailwind), build processes (Vite), and deployment considerations.
  • Database Management: Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, StarRocks).
  • Security: Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning and security compliance.
