About the Organisation

The NGO Management Association (NMA) is a Geneva-based non-profit organisation that supports NGOs and other social-purpose organisations worldwide to strengthen their management, governance and impact. Since 2007, NMA has provided training, consultancy and coaching in more than 20 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

NMA also establishes and facilitates communities of practice that enable organisations and practitioners to learn from one another, address shared challenges and apply new approaches in their day-to-day work. We currently work with partners in Kenya, South Sudan, Côte d’Ivoire and Thailand through communities of practice and related learning initiatives.

Initial priorities will be agreed with the Executive Director based on NMA’s communication needs and the successful candidate’s experience.

  • Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners working remotely across different countries and time zones.
  • Familiarity with the non-profit sector or international cooperation is an advantage.

Working Conditions

  • A flexible, part-time unpaid volunteer/intern role of approximately 8–12 hours per week.
  • A fully remote working arrangement, with flexibility to organise working hours around agreed priorities and meetings.
  • Practical experience in international non-profit communications and direct collaboration with NMA’s leadership and partners.
