Leadership, Management and Communication Training Consultants
Role Summary
Sustainable Research and Development Center seeks experienced trainers as consultants for a managerial training program in Erbil, Iraq, enhancing leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Selected consultant(s) may be responsible for some or all of the following tasks:
- Review the assignment requirements and contribute to the design of a comprehensive three-day managerial training programme.
- Develop a detailed training agenda and appropriate sequencing of training topics.
- Develop session plans, presentations, participant handouts, practical exercises and other training materials.
- Deliver high-quality, interactive training sessions for managers and supervisors.
- Facilitate practical exercises, case studies, simulations, role plays, group discussions and workplace-based scenarios.
- Apply adult-learning and participant-centred training methodologies.
- Facilitate sessions on leadership styles, managerial responsibilities, team leadership, strategic thinking, accountability and building trust.
- Strengthen participants' competencies in delegation, staff empowerment, coaching, mentoring, motivation and employee development.
- Facilitate training on effective managerial communication, reporting lines, information sharing, active listening, constructive feedback and professional communication.
- Address difficult conversations, workplace conflict, negotiation and positive workplace relationships.
- Support participants to strengthen analytical decision-making, critical thinking, root-cause analysis, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
- Facilitate learning related to emotional intelligence, self-awareness, empathy, relationship management and leadership resilience.
- Address organizational change, managing resistance and maintaining staff engagement during periods of change.
- Promote inclusive, collaborative and solution-oriented management practices.
- Conduct pre- and post-training assessments, knowledge checks or other appropriate learning assessments.
- Collect and analyse participant feedback on the effectiveness of the training.
- Contribute to or prepare a concise post-training report documenting the activities delivered, participant feedback, assessment results, key observations and recommendations.
- Coordinate with SRD Center before and during implementation to ensure the quality and timely delivery of the assignment.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
- Advanced university degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or another relevant discipline.
- Relevant professional qualifications, training certifications or accreditation in leadership development, management training, coaching, organizational development, human resources or related fields are an advantage.
- Demonstrated professional experience in leadership, management and/or organizational development.
- Proven experience designing and delivering leadership and management training programmes for managers and supervisors.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the technical areas covered by the assignment, including leadership, people management, communication, conflict resolution, decision-making, emotional intelligence or change management.
- Demonstrated ability to use interactive and participatory adult-learning methodologies.
- Strong facilitation, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience developing training curricula, agendas, facilitator materials, presentations, exercises and participant learning resources.
- Ability to facilitate practical case studies, simulations, role plays and problem-solving exercises.
- Experience conducting training assessments and evaluating learning outcomes.
- Experience working with NGOs, international NGOs, development organizations or international institutions is considered an advantage.
- Previous professional or training experience in Iraq and/or the Kurdistan Region of Iraq is an advantage.
- Ability and availability to undertake the assignment and deliver in-person training in Erbil, Iraq.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively within a short implementation timeframe.
- Excellent professional communication and report-writing skills.
