Senior Manager, Data Center Design
Role Summary
Join Radiant as a Senior Manager for Data Center Design in London, leading innovative AI infrastructure projects with a hands-on approach.
About the Organisation
Radiant is redefining how AI infrastructure is built.
We design and operate AI-native cloud platforms engineered for sovereignty, performance, and scale. Our infrastructure powers GPU-native workloads, multi-tenant control planes, and high-performance AI systems designed for the most demanding environments.
We are not building a generic cloud. We are building purpose-built AI infrastructure — from powered land, to compute, to software.
As we scale, we're building this organisation from the ground up. We're looking for people who'd rather build the playbook than inherit one — who are comfortable doing the work themselves as well as directing others, and who can adapt as fast as our strategy does. This is a startup model: attitude and adaptability matter more to us than years of experience or the size of team you've previously managed.
This is a cross-functional role requiring strong technical, commercial, and delivery capabilities, with exposure to executive stakeholders and EPCs, design consultants, OEMs, and every regional Project Director relying on one consistent design standard.
Key Responsibilities
You'll set and personally hold the line on Radiant's data center design standard for electrical, mechanical, civil and architectural design across every live project. In the early stages, you'll be doing a meaningful share of the engineering yourself, not just reviewing it.
Minimum Requirements
- Attitude matters more to us here than number of years of experience.
- Strong hands-on design experience in electrical or mechanical engineering for data centres or similarly complex mission-critical facilities.
- Comfort producing or heavily marking up design output yourself, not just directing others who do.
- Working knowledge of high-density GPU cooling (air and liquid) and power distribution/redundancy topologies.
- Ability to set a standard from a blank page - you won't be handed one.
- Confidence pushing back on consultants and EPCs directly on technical substance.
- We care much more about how you think through a design problem than the number of years on your CV.
- Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, or related discipline).
- Experience designing for both European and US markets and codes.
- Exposure to liquid cooling (DLC/CDU) design.
- Chartered engineer status or equivalent, though not required.
Eligibility Criteria
The role does not specify eligibility criteria for applicants, but it likely welcomes a variety of candidates given its nature.
