Key Responsibilities
- Review funding opportunities, Notices of Funding Opportunity, calls for proposals, terms of reference, tender documentation and other donor solicitation documents and identify key requirements, evaluation criteria and compliance obligations.
- Support the designated P&D Lead, where requested, in preparing proposal outlines, compliance matrices and other assignment-specific proposal-development tools.
- Draft and/or edit expressions of interest, concept notes, technical proposals, grant applications, executive summaries, capability statements and other funding submissions.
- Draft and articulate project objectives, methodologies, activities, outputs, outcomes, sustainability approaches and theories of change/results frameworks on the basis of substantive inputs provided by the relevant GRC technical Leads, subject-matter experts and M&E personnel.
- Ensure proposals respond directly to donor evaluation criteria and are appropriately tailored to the terminology, priorities, format and writing style of the relevant donor or funder.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure consistency between the technical proposal, budget and budget narrative.
- Support the development and review of budget narratives and other financial narrative components of proposals.
- Integrate inputs from GRC technical teams, management, partners and other contributors into a coherent and consistent proposal narrative.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience of at least 3 years in bid writing or grant proposal development, preferably with an international development scope.
- Demonstrated ability to craft clear, concise and persuasive proposal content.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with funding platforms, donor requirements, and grant application processes.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly assimilate complex technical information and translate substantive inputs from subject-matter experts into clear, persuasive donor-facing proposal narratives.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under the direction of an internal proposal lead and within established organisational proposal-development processes.
- Excellent written communication and storytelling skills in English.
