About the Organisation
To be successful in this role, you must have at least 2 years of practical field experience in the mobilization of communities and implementation of projects for Bachelor’s degree holders and 5 years’ experience for Diploma holders. Moreover, we also expect the following.
In this position, you are expected to demonstrate DRC’s five core competencies:
- Required*
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Environmental Science, Community Development, or related fields.
- Experience working with refugees and host communities.
- Experience in the mobilization of communities for participatory activities
- Experience in the implementation of ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation, and natural resource management projects using the labor-intensive approach
- Experience in managing the workforce and community members
- Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and undertake practical demonstrations
- Knowledge of local context including market systems, CSA, Environment and gender inclusion.
- Competent motorcycle riding skills and a valid riding license.
- Full professional proficiency in (written & spoken) English.

- Develop and deliver educational materials and training sessions on ecosystem restoration, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable resource use.
- Promote environmentally friendly practices among communities, such as recycling, composting, and water conservation.
- Identify and mentor community-based environmental champions to lead localized conservation efforts.
- Collaborate with schools and local institutions to integrate environmental education into their activities.
- Contract length: 12 months
- Band: I2
- Designation of Duty Station: Moyo, Obongi, Yumbe, Koboko, Terego and Madi Okollo
- Start date: October 2026
