Key Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, design review, and implementation of major construction projects (e.g., hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centres).
- Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Monitor construction progress against timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate between contractors, supervising consultants, partners, and CBM programme teams.
- Review and advise on construction contracts and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Ensure compliance with Zambian building regulations and statutory requirements.
- Monitor adherence to occupational health and safety standards.
- Ensure projects integrate disability-inclusive and universal access standards.
- Review payment certificates and verify completed works.
- Monitor cost variations and advise management on financial implications.
- Identify construction risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Support internal and external audits related to construction projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections and produce detailed technical reports.
- Ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards.
- Verify completion certificates and handover processes.
- Liaise with Government ministries, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Engage engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, and contractors.
- Provide technical updates to senior management and donors.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field and be a registered member of a relevant professional body.
