About the Organisation

TGH has been operating in Ukraine since June 2016. At the early stages, based in Kramatorsk, it supported the most vulnerable populations affected by the conflict in the Donbass region through protection assistance. From February 2022 to October 2024, TGH established four operational bases in Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Lviv, delivering humanitarian aid through Protection activities (Case Management, Legal Aid and PSS), and Basic Needs programs (Shelter, Cash, Wash).

Since October 2024, TGH has been focusing on protection and shelter in the eastern region, assisting people in need in the Dnipropetrovska, Kharkivka, Donetska, and Zaporiska oblasts from its operational base in Dnipro, its sub-office in Kharkiv, through direct and indirect implementation.

  • Ensures compliance with Ukrainian laws, procedures and regulations applicable to the INGOs working in the country
  • Ensure an appropriate level of visibility of the organization with the national and local authorities, as well as with donor representatives in the country
  • Monitor and analyse the political, humanitarian and socio-economic context
  • Ensure efficient internal coordination at mission level and with HQ
  • Ensure efficient distance management between the coordination and Field bases.
  • Lead the SMT Meetings
  • Defines and/or updates the general strategy of the mission related to context changes, using the TGH tools.
  • Implements and orientates program activities to the strategy, in cooperation with the Program Coordinator.
  • Ensures overall overview on the logistic and financial situation of the mission, and – with the finance and log team – budget-related issues of the projects
  • Ensure proper budgets follow-up and forecast.
  • Follow up on the delivery of materials in conjunction with the logistics team
  • Coordinates and/or conducts assessment and exploratory missions in cooperation with the Field Coordinators
  • Ensure projects implementation and follow-up with the support of the Program Coordinator and in close collaboration with the Deputy Field Coordinator for Kharkiv.
  • Supervises the good Identification, implementation, and development of partnership agreement and follow up with local NGOs in cooperation with the Program Coordinator and the Deputy Field Coordinator.
  • Lead the weekly coordination meetings at area level.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and donor procedures in the implementation, monitoring and reporting of activities
  • Ensure a link and good coordination between the programs and all supports departments
  • Guarantee adequate communication and coordination between technical coordination staff and country office programs as well as program and operational issues.
  • Contribute external and internal reporting, based on TGH tools, and donor reporting schedule.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with a humanitarian NGO including at least 1 year in a coordination position in emergency context
  • Good knowledge of the humanitarian environment (NGOs, UN, main donors)
  • Good security management skills, experience in challenging security environments
  • Good communication and writing skills in English; knowledge of Ukrainian and French languages is an asset
  • Proven experience in networking, fundraising and writing project proposals
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in partnership building and management with local CSO partners and national government
  • Good organizational, planning, diplomatic, and problem-solving skills, effective decision-maker
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills, with experience in managing diverse and multidisciplinary teams
  • Cultural sensitivity, diplomatic, positive and constructive approach
  • Experience of leading efficient and transparent financial management processes
  • Ability to speak and communicate to different audiences: donors, partners, cluster, staff and beneficiaries.

Working Conditions

In Dnipro, air alerts are daily, with a noticeable increase of airstrikes in the past period. However, travel on foot or by taxi is permitted in the city centre, and it is possible to go out to restaurants and bars. There is a curfew in place from 24:00 to 05:00 according to the martial law. TGH team works in spacious and well-equipped offices with a shelter in the city centre, close to the Guest House where the expatriates are accommodated. Access to good internet connection in the offices and the guesthouse. Power outages during the winter are possible and likely, but alternative solutions are planned.
