As Programme Manager for Ukraine, you will be part of the Kvinna till Kvinna South Caucasus and Eastern Europe (SCEE) regional team and report to the Deputy Regional Director. The position will be based in Ukraine, where we have a small team based in Lviv. You will work closely with regional programme and finance staff, partner organisations and the Grants Management unit in at the Head Office in Stockholm. Regular travel may be required.

The role focuses on leading and coordinating the strategic development and implementation of Kvinna till Kvinna’s work in Ukraine, while strengthening partnerships with local civil society organisations and ensuring high-quality programme delivery.

Your tasks will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead development and management of the Ukraine programme plan, including operational planning and context analysis;
  • Identify thematic priorities, partnership opportunities and areas for programme development;
  • Conduct mapping and assessments of relevant civil society organisations for potential partnership;
  • Contribute to concept notes and proposal development in cooperation with the regional team and Grants Manager;
  • Review and provide quality assurance on partner applications, work plans and reports;
  • Conduct partner organisational assessments and support partner organisations throughout programme implementation;
  • Identify and lead capacity building, networking and experience-sharing activities;
  • Coordinate with like-minded organisations and INGOs operating in Ukraine and the region;
  • Ensure programme activities comply with organisational strategies, policies and approved work plans

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human rights, peace studies, gender studies, political science, development studies or another relevant field;
  • Several years of professional experience designing, managing and implementing development or human rights programmes;
  • Experience working with women’s rights and/or peacebuilding, with experience in the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda considered an asset;
  • Strong experience in project cycle management, including planning, monitoring, evaluation and budget follow-up;
  • Experience of working with international advocacy and networking;
  • Experience working with institutional donors such as Sida or the EU;
  • Deep understanding of the Ukranian context;
  • Experience working collaboratively with local civil society organisations;
  • Experience identifying organisational needs and providing capacity building and strategic support;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Ukranian;
  • Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of languages spoken in the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe region;
  • Experience working in crisis-affected and complex environments, including risk assessments within human rights, gender equality and/or peacebuilding.
