Role Summary
Join CORE as a Communications Officer in Venezuela to document humanitarian programs and enhance media relations supporting the earthquake response.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years working on humanitarian programs.
Background in emergency humanitarian communications methodologies and best practices is a plus.
This position requires operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs, including the ability to travel within Venezuela on short notice.
Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong, demonstrable videography and video-editing expertise. Must have own professional equipment.
- Strong photography and photo-editing capabilities. Must have own professional equipment.
- Skilled in creative video editing techniques (montages, cuts, sound syncing, lower-third captions) to produce content optimized for a variety of digital channels.
- A keen eye for impactful, compelling storytelling in sensitive and dynamic humanitarian contexts.
- Able to communicate effectively and build relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Solid understanding of communications ethics best practices when operating in vulnerable situations with communities in crisis.
- Highly creative, innovative, and enterprising; able to drive projects independently.
- Able to meet crisis communications needs on tight deadlines while balancing competing demands from HQ.
