Role Summary
Join Omegga as a Finance & Operations Associate in Munich, Germany, to drive innovative solutions that benefit animals and the planet—a role requiring professional-level German.
About the Organisation
At Omegga, we're on a mission to reinvent how AI and spectroscopy can drive positive change for animals, people, and the planet. We started with a clear objective: eliminate chick culling on a global scale through early, non-invasive in-ovo sex detection. This outdated practice still impacts billions of lives, and we're here to change that.
Today, our systems are already in use, and the focus is on scaling performance, robustness, and deployment across an international customer base. For us, scaling means more than growth. It means changing an industry for the better.
We are looking for people who take ownership, think in systems, and want to help turn a working product into the industry benchmark. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you
.
Mission & Technical Challenge: At Omegga, you work on problems that are both technically demanding and globally relevant. We build deep-tech solutions with real-world impact, pushing the boundaries of what's currently possible.
Relocation Support: Moving to Munich? We help you find an apartment in the Werksviertel within walking distance of the office. We connect you with the right contacts and take the stress out of apartment hunting.
Work Environment: Located in Munich's Werksviertel, this is an on-site role. You'll work closely with the team in a focused, high-performance culture where finance and operations sit at the heart of how the company runs.
Ownership: VSOPs (Virtual Stock Options) so you share in the value you help create.
Time Off: 28 vacation days per year, plus December 24th and 31st off.
Minimum Requirements
We're looking for a hands-on Finance & Operations Associate to keep the financial and operational engine of a fast-scaling deep-tech company running smoothly. You'll work side by side with the Head of Finance in a small team, which gives you broad exposure across finance and operations from day one and real room to grow into more. Please note that this role requires professional-level German (C1 or above), as our finance, tax, and administrative processes run in German. You bring finance fundamentals, a structured way of working, and genuine curiosity about how a business operates end to end. You see what needs to happen, take initiative, and enjoy working openly in a fast-moving, international team that's growing together.
You take ownership, hold yourself to a high standard, and care about getting the details right, because in finance and operations they matter. You communicate openly, give honest feedback, and build trust through your actions. You believe the best work happens in an environment where people support each other, share knowledge, and grow together.
Not ticking every box? That's okay. One exception to the above: German at C1 level or above is required for this role.
If this role excites you and you bring most of what we've described, we want to hear from you.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in finance and/or operations, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment. Strong, relevant internship experience counts too if you're a fast learner
- Fluent German and English, German at C1 level or above. This is a hard requirement: our finance and administrative processes run in a German-language context (DATEV, tax advisors, audits, vendor and authority communication)
- A solid grasp of accounting fundamentals and a working understanding of how P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow connect. Bookkeeping is handled externally, but you know what's happening behind the numbers
- Hands-on exposure to procure-to-pay processes and purchasing, ideally including hardware
- Familiarity with DATEV and comfort with spend-management or finance tools
- A strong numerical sense and confident Excel skills
- A structured, detail-oriented way of working paired with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. You identify what needs to happen next and take it on
- You communicate openly, enjoy working in an international team, and are eager to grow alongside it
